Recently we stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge in Kansas City, Kansas and let me tell you it was an amazing experience for the whole family! My kids were so excited when they were each given their own fluffy wolf ears when we checked in. Of course, they had to put them right on and start howling like little wolf cubs as we made our way to our room and got settled for our stay.

As most of you know we homeschool as we travel and I am always looking for opportunities to sneak in education while visiting certain destinations. So when we decided to head to Washington D.C. I knew it was going to be a goldmine opportunity for our kids to learn about American history and more. I couldn’t wait to walk around the National Mall, museums and other historical sites and watch them soak in all that our nation’s capital has to offer.

It’s no secret that New York City is pricey. While you can definitely do NYC on a budget the one thing I can never get cheap enough is accommodations. So sometimes when you really want to visit a destination, but don’t want to break the bank you have to get a little more creative; think outside of the box. Travel day, the very words that give me anxiety and butterflies in my stomach. Getting four people from point A to point B isn’t as easy as one might think. So many little details go into our whole family traveling, and the one detail that stresses me out before we even leave for the airport is how we are going to haul our luggage around. This one task can make our family go from a cute family getting ready for a fun trip to two stressed out parents frantically running through the airport with two uncooperative kids asking “when can we stop pulling our luggage?”

About Mamas Spot

We are a family of four that left it all behind to go travel the world. No, literally we left it all. We sold all of our possessions, packed what we could into four suitcases and said goodbye to suburban life. All we own is now pulled behind us as we travel to new and exciting destinations. Showing our kids the world and teaching them about new cultures, food, and ways of life is now our 9-5.

We love watching our kids learn, and learning along side them. Together we have now explored many new countries, visited family on the other side of the world, and made memories that will last a lifetime.

Welcome to our journey!
