It’s time for a sequel! I love a good sequel, don’t you? I hope you enjoyed my last article on how to complete an awesome Kansas road trip! Now it’s time to move on down the road and check out new activities, food and lodging! After all, as I stated in my last post, Kansas has a lot to offer and it would be shame to only experience part of it. To really soak it all in, it is necessary to plan a multi-day road trip across this great state.

Our family has been traveling the globe for years now, but we always love coming back home to the US. We have now been to all but 13 states, and we love learning more and exploring our home turf. I get people asking me all the time about what state is our favorite, and while I feel every state has something amazing to offer travelers, if I had to pick one that stood out the most and took me by surprise it would be… Kansas! I know what you’re thinking right? Really, Kansas? Yes, Kansas!

I’ve heard the saying since I was a child; it’s all in the details. Until I became an adult I didn’t truly understand what that meant—and until my recent stay at The Langham Place Hotel in NYC I hadn’t seen it put to action so well. When staying at a five-star hotel you get accustomed to the perks and know what to expect, so when you go to another five star hotel and they surpass those perks and expectations I am impressed—Langham Place NYC did just that.

As most of you know we homeschool as we travel and I am always looking for opportunities to sneak in education while visiting certain destinations. So when we decided to head to Washington D.C. I knew it was going to be a goldmine opportunity for our kids to learn about American history and more. I couldn’t wait to walk around the National Mall, museums and other historical sites and watch them soak in all that our nation’s capital has to offer.

I am definitely not a winter person, I need those summer days to thrive! Unfortunately, I live in a state that has a long cold winter/spring and so our family planned an escape this year to San Diego! Nothing says vacation quite the ocean, beautiful beaches and warm air of San Diego.
