I’ve been in Japan for a little bit now and while I didn’t feel any sort of what you would call technical “culture shock,” I was and continue to be dealing with some hard lessons that I find myself struggling with almost every day. There are many things I noticed right away that I loved about Japan and some ingenuity that left me wondering, “Why haven’t we thought about this?”, but that’s another article for another day. Everyone wants to visit Paris, but the best experiences really come from living like a Parisian. There is nothing wrong with visiting the tourist spots while on holiday, but if you want a more authentic experience you must break away from those areas and dig deeper. Paris is really about the neighborhoods and they all have a distinct feel and energy.

As you start to become a more seasoned traveler there are items you pack in your suitcase that are vital and some you come to realize just aren’t necessary and can be tossed out. This past year we have been able to weed out quite a few items that just aren’t needed, but we have found one that has become an essential that every traveler, backpacker, camper or really any household should have.

You might hear the words all-inclusive and think that it would be a dream come true, no matter where or what the resort is right? But not all resorts are created equal, and you really have to do some digging to find the resort that is a perfect fit for you and your family. I have heard many accounts from friends that just went for the cheapest option they could find, and they turned out to be very disappointed. The meals, the service, or the location were all wrong, and instead of the all-inclusive resort being a positive part of the trip, it turned out to be a regret.
