I hear all the time from friends, family and readers how they would love to visit a particular destination if only they knew the language a little better or at all. Today I want to talk to you about something near and dear to my heart. While it may seem like all we hear about right now is upsetting news and problems that feel like they are out of our control, there are still amazing causes where we can affect change. One cause that I am focusing on this month is the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP). This amazing WWP helps to honor and empower soldiers that were wounded or injured while serving their country.

2020 has definitely thrown me for a loop. Like most of you; everything that was once normal has changed. If this was any other year I would be sharing many overseas travels with you right now. Instead I will be homebound for the foreseeable future. I try to lean on the positive side when life throws curveballs my way and so I wanted to make the best of this situation. I knew this was my opportunity to explore my own backyard. So many times travelers forget about the adventure and beauty that lies right in their own hometowns.

I knew the day would come that my kids would need their own cell phone. To be honest it wasn’t something I was thrilled by. My kids having their own phone is just another step in them growing up and getting older. To me, it was a milestone that I wasn’t looking forward to and kept pushing off, but I also see the benefits of tweens having a phone.
