Watermark Hotel: A Truly Peaceful Bali Stay

Ever since my first time in Japan I have been obsessed with anything Japanese inspired. I love the simplicity and efficiency of Japanese design and when I am in a space created with this in mind I always feel at peace. During my travels I am always on the lookout for Japanese inspired properties and I was incredibly excited to find the Watermark hotel on our recent journey to Bali.

The Watermark combines a fusion of Indonesia and Japan that makes for a truly magical stay. Once you enter the property you can feel the island spirit mixed with a peace and tranquility that will leave you relaxed and at home.

I found the rooms at the Watermark to be so comfortable I almost didn’t want to leave my room! I also greatly appreciated the little touches you just can’t find at some other hotels like the in room water cooler for 24 hour cold or hot drinking water right in your room, and the giant bath great for relaxing. The property really provides everything you would ever need if you are looking for somewhere to just relax and chill.

On site there are three amazing restaurant choices:

W Senses Restaurant –
You can find breakfast, lunch and dinner served here all day in an al fresco setting. The dishes here are carefully thought out and executed. On the right night you can also catch a show with your meal. They have amazing Balinese cultural performances that will entertain any guest.

Nishi-Azabu Imadoki –
Since leaving Japan I have been longing for authentic Japanese cuisine and I found it at Nishi-Azabu Imadoki. I was thrilled to be able to eat some of my favorite Japanese staples like miso soup and soba. I also enjoyed new dishes like the pork belly that was so amazing!

Angelique Café –
This is a low key dining experience that is great to try especially for families. They have a wide variety of dishes that are sure to please any palate. Our kids loved Angelique Café and couldn’t get enough of their rice and pasta dishes. They also have a wide range of sweets that will keep everyone happy as well!

Something I always look for in our travels is hospitality. The people at the hotel can really make your trip amazing or detract from it. The service though at the Watermark is really above and beyond and they are always there to make sure you are having the best experience possible. Upon arrival, they provide you with shuttle times to local shopping and beaches and also all the information you will need about the area. I loved having an onsite shuttle to take us around to some of the different areas to explore.

For those with tiny kids you will love the Nak Nik Kids Club. The Watermark has a whole play area just for kids that need to run around. They also have something that I haven’t come across at any other hotel; a departure lounge. This area is designated for those that are leaving, but have some extra time to spare. It’s a great area to just chill until you can leave for your flight. I thought this was a really novel idea.

From start to finish the Watermark never disappoints and can provide any traveler with a fantastic Bali experience! I highly recommend checking out this fantastic hotel.
