I like to consider myself a Vegas expert; while I don’t normally consider myself an expert of any destination, we have been to Vegas seven times already this year, that’s right… seven times! And we aren’t done, we will visit at least a few more times. My last visit was for pure pampering! I decided to have a girls’ getaway, solely focused on relaxing. While the Strip can be fun, it’s not the place to go to unwind; if you are looking to chill at a slower pace, you will want to head to The Golden Nugget downtown!
When planning a girls’ day out, you’re going to want a fantastic place for lunch before heading to activities planned, and when hanging out at the Golden Nugget, you can’t go wrong heading straight to The Grotto. At the Grotto, you can enjoy fantastic classic Italian food while sipping a fine wine with a view of the renowned Golden Nugget shark tank pool.
You will want to plan plenty of time for lunch, after all, part of relaxing is sitting back and really enjoying your meal. The pool view will supply plenty to see while you enjoy these amazing dishes.
My friend, Julia, had a craving for seafood and ordered the Penne con Gamberi al Limone, with sautéed shrimp. I went with the Rotisserie Chicken that was slow roasted and served with roasted potatoes and sautéed spinach. My chicken was so soft and flavorful, and Julia couldn’t get enough of her Penne con Gamberi al Limone. The Grotto was definitely a great start to our girls’ day out!
After an amazing lunch, a fantastic accompaniment is heading to the Golden Nugget Spa for some pampering! The Spa and Salon at the Golden Nugget offers everything from massages to manicures. I always go for a massage, nothing makes me feel more relaxed and refreshed than a massage, and The Golden Nugget goes above and beyond with their exclusive 24K Signature Massage. I get a massage at least once a month, but I have never had a massage like this! With the 24K massage, your back will be gently exfoliated and details like moist heat applied to your scalp, hands, and feet are added as well. This is not your average massage, and it will definitely make for a highlight to your girls’ day out!

After you get pampered at the Spa, be sure to spend a little more time to fully enjoy all the amenities at the spa like the steam room, sauna, and whirlpool. They also offer fresh fruit, trail mix, bottled water, and fruit juices. You will want to just hang out at the spa for the whole afternoon!
Once you leave the spa feeling like a million dollars, you can end your girls’ day out on a high note with some fabulous shopping and entertainment on Freemont Street, right next to the Golden Nugget. So before you start planning your relaxing girls’ day out or getaway, you will want to check out the Golden Nugget to plan a fantastic day you and your girlfriends will never forget!
