I love bringing my favorite flavors and recipes from around the world back home with me and anytime I can make an international dish at home it makes me happy. So when I tried to make Pho I knew it would be amazing and I couldn't wait to see what my family thought. The flavors of Pho are just amazing and it's a dish you will never forget. While it does require a few more ingredients than other dishes it is well worth it and you'll be so thrilled to taste this amazing dish straight from your kitchen!
Meatless Authentic Pho
Ingredients:
2 liters of water
3 Tablespoons of Better Than Bouillon Premium seasoned vegetable base
1 large onion chopped
Thinly sliced green onions
Teaspoon of ginger shavings
5 star anise
1 cinnamon stick
bok choy chopped
1/4 teaspoon whole cloves
1/4 teaspoon coriander seeds
1/4 teaspoon fennel seeds
sugar, to taste
3 tablespoons fish sauce
8 oz. pho noodles
1 sliced jalapeño
chopped cilantro
sriracha for flavor
Bean Sprout
Step 1: Prepare a pot for your stock with 2 liters of water and the 3 Tablespoons of Better Than Bouillon Premium seasoned vegetable base. Mix till you don't see the paste.
Step 2: In a pan brown your onion and then add to your stock. Add green onions, ginger shavings, 5 star anise, 1 cinnamon stick, whole cloves. Let simmer for 15 minutes and then remove the star anise, cinnamon and cloves.
Step 3: Add bean sprout, chopped cilantro, jalapeño, fennel seeds, coriander seeds and bok choy.Let simmer while cooking noodles in separate pot.
Step 4: Cook noodles in separate pot to keep your stock looking more clear. Prepare per the packaging.
Step 5: Add desired noodles and stock to a bowl and top with sriracha and fish sauce.
Step 6: ENJOY!
