It can be tough taking your whole family to Vegas, as planning a completely kid-friendly time seems complicated. The city went through a very small period of being family-friendly, but those days are definitely gone. I love heading to Vegas for a girls’ weekend or to get away with my husband, but occasionally it’s nice to head to warmer weather with the kids too.

On our last visit to Vegas, we stayed at the fabulous Green Valley Ranch, and as soon as we walked in we knew we definitely wouldn’t go hungry. Like most casinos they have many restaurants on their property, but Green Valley boasted one major difference other casinos don’t have, Pizza Rock. Before even trying Pizza Rock we overheard several people talking about how fantastic it was. When you overhear others saying how great it is, you know you have to try it out for yourselves.

Kids notoriously get excited about seemingly small things. While traveling all I hear most days are the phrases, “mom, I want that!” or, “mom can we do that?!” While it can be tempting to give in to their requests since you’re in vacation mindset, there are some things you know will affect them in a profound way. I knew this when we decided to take them to Kids Quest, which is located inside of the Green Valley Ranch Resort.

At our recent stay with Green Valley Ranch, we were given a special opportunity to try out Color Me Mine. If you haven’t heard of Color Me Mine, it’s a fantastic place for kids and adults to find their creative side through making your own painted creations. This was our first time doing anything like this and the kids were super excited to try it out.

Our family is really brand loyal; when we find something amazing, we stick with it. This extends to our travel plans as well. I keep detailed notes in my head of what hotels, activities, and restaurants have to offer our family while we travel. What works, and what doesn’t. Who has some of the best amenities, and how our overall experience was. When we head to DC, our “brand loyalty” lies with Hyatt Regency Tysons Corner; they offer everything our family needs.  DC is full of great hotels, but none of them are as family friendly as Hyatt Regency Tysons Corner.
